The CFA Society Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Hatton National Bank (HNB), is pleased to introduce a specialized education loan and credit card facility designed to support aspiring CFA candidates. This initiative aims to reduce financial barriers and enable more candidates and professionals to achieve their CFA Charter and advance their careers in finance.

Objective

To provide flexible financial assistance to cover key expenses associated with pursuing the CFA Program, ensuring that cost is no longer an obstacle for dedicated candidates.

HNB FINANCING SOLUTIONS – EDU LOAN

This loan scheme is available for

  • Undergraduates registering for CFA Level I
  • Working professionals registering for CFA exams at any level

Undergraduate Coverage

Loan Coverage & Terms

  • Available for Undergraduates registered for CFA Level I

The HNB Exclusive Edu Loan provides financial assistance covering up to 90% of your exam and tuition fees.

Loan amount

Minimum loan amount of Rs. 100,000

Maximum loan amount of Rs. 400,000

Grace Period

  • Up to 2 years (Maximum)
  • Including the grace period, maximum tenure of 5 years offered.

Conditions apply

  • The main borrower must be a student aged 18 years or above, while a joint borrower can be an immediate family member parent/ immediate family member/Caretaker/Guardian ensuring financial security and ease of repayment.
  • This loan comes with low interest rates and provides a grace period during which no capital repayment is required.
  • Interest is payable only on the disbursed loan amount, ensuring flexibility for candidates.
  • Loan payments will be made directly to CFA Institute or tuition provider.
HNB requires a minimum of 10 – 15 working days to process the loan before the due date of the invoice payment deadline

Therefore, anyone planning to apply for the loan should be mindful of the CFA registration and exam deadlines.

Steps to obtain the invoice

  1. Visit CFA Institute Web page and Sign In or Create Account
  2.  Visit CFA Program and click Enroll and Register
  3. Select the exam you wish to register for. 
  4. Choose your study tools package
  5. Complete the Registration 
  6. In Checkout step > Select Invoice option

Please ensure you obtain your invoice at least 40 days before the exam registration deadline, as the invoice payment deadline falls 40 days prior to the registration closing date. After this period, the system will no longer allow you to proceed with the “Pay by Invoice” option.

FROM the co-borrower

Employed Co – Borrower

  • 3 months salary slips
  • 6 recent bank statements if salary is not remitted to HNB
  • Permanent employment confirmation letter

Co – Borrower with a Business Income 

  • Copy of the business registration
  • 12 recent bank statements
  • Any other document to prof the income

Working professional Coverage

  • Available for  Working professionals registering for CFA exams at any Level

HNB, in partnership with CFA Society Sri Lanka, offers the Visa Signature Credit Card, designed specifically for CFA candidates, providing financial flexibility and convenience throughout their CFA journey.

  • This card allows candidates to pay their CFA exam fees through a 24-month easy payment plan at 0% interest, easing the financial burden of exam registration.
  • Additionally, candidates enjoy a zero joining fee and a waiver on the annual fee for the first two years.
  • Pre-approved credit card limit of Rs 500,000/=
